We equip young people in Cameroon with practical skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, and real opportunities for self-reliance—transforming lives and strengthening communities.
At Gilead Association for Youth Empowerment (GAYEP), we believe in the strength, creativity, and potential of young people. We exist to guide, equip, and inspire them to become change-makers in their communities and beyond.
Our goal is simple yet powerful — to create opportunities for youths to learn, lead, and thrive. Through education, mentorship, and empowerment programs, we help young individuals unlock their potential and build sustainable futures for themselves and those around them.
Empowering Youth. Fighting Poverty. Building Sustainability.
GAYEP was born out of a simple but urgent reality:
too many young people in Cameroon were leaving school without the practical skills needed to survive, work, or build a future.
For many, this meant unemployment, frustration, and vulnerability to poverty.
We saw this gap—and we chose to act.
What started as a small initiative to train a few young people has grown into a movement focused on equipping youth with hands-on skills that lead to real opportunities.

GAYEP is powered by a passionate team of trainers, mentors, and community leaders who believe that every young person deserves a chance to succeed. “We didn’t just want to train—we wanted to transform lives.” — Program Coordinator “When a young person gains a skill, they gain dignity, confidence, and a future.” — Lead Trainer

Responding to the Anglophone Crisis
The ongoing crisis in Cameroon has displaced many young people, leaving them without access to skills and livelihood opportunities.
GAYEP is bridging this gap by providing vocational training and support to internally displaced youth, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and independence.

Through our empowerment programs and leadership workshops, GAYEP has trained and mentored hundreds of young people — equipping them with essential skills in communication, entrepreneurship, and community leadership.
We have organized numerous community service initiatives focused on education, sanitation, health awareness, and environmental protection. These projects have positively impacted schools, villages, and urban communities alike.
GAYEP has built meaningful partnerships with local institutions, youth groups, and development organizations to expand our reach and create sustainable impact. These collaborations have allowed us to implement larger, more inclusive programs.
We’ve launched programs aimed at empowering young women and girls through education, skills training, and mentorship — helping them build confidence and economic independence.
Our health initiatives have raised awareness on mental health, hygiene, and reproductive health. These campaigns have helped hundreds of youths access reliable information and healthier lifestyles.
Beyond programs and events, GAYEP has inspired a growing movement of young leaders committed to service and integrity. Many of our alumni now serve as mentors, advocates, and changemakers in their own communities.
